The Colorado Mycological Society Mushroom Fair is a once a year celebration of the wonderful world of fungi. Come see a diverse display of 100’s of mushrooms from the Southern Rocky Mountain Region, and learn about their ecology and identification. There will also be demonstrations on mushroom cultivation, microscopy, information on mushroom toxicology, and even a kids corner. We will have a craft workshop and expert mushroom identifiers to help you with your mushroom questions.

Each year CMS brings in a special guest identifier for the fair, and this year we are excited to have Colorado’s very own Orion Aon!!!

Orion Aon has been mushroom hunting in the southern Rockies for over 25 years. He is the owner of Forage Colorado and the author of the upcoming book from Falcon Guides, Foraging Colorado, set to release in May 2027. Orion has been teaching others about the wild foods of Colorado for over 10 years through his website, digital content, and in-person classes.
